AhlulBayt News Agency - The identity of five men killed recently by Islamic State (ISIS) militants for spying and shown in a propaganda video has now come to light.

Manhal Marwan’s brother Hael, 40, was killed on charges of spying for Britain.

“My brother is a normal civilian just like all other people inside my city. He has shop, and he fixes air conditioning and electric things in homes. And he lives a normal life,” Marwan told BBC.

Marwan added that his brother was forced by the militants to admit that was a British spy.

The five men were executed in the ISIS capital of Raqqa this week, according to the video.

Marwan is now in hiding in Turkey where he talked to the BBC about his brother’s death.

“There are moments I say my brother is still alive. But after that I back to reality. Yes ISIS executed him and he is innocent,” he said.

The extremist group released a video on Monday showing Faisal Hamoud Aljafar, 25; Mahyar Mahmud al-Othman, 31; Omar Hamoud al-Jafar, 30; and 18-years-old Obeid Mohammad Abdul al-ghani, accused and executed for allegedly spying for Britain.

The footage also contained a message to the UK Prime Minister David Cameron whose government decided last month to expand Royal Air Force (RAF) air strikes into Syria against ISIS.

Marwan said that his brother was innocent but that ISIS arrested people in Raqqa for no reason, adding that local residents suffer in the meantime from lack of services such as water and electricity.

“It is hell. The water sometimes came sometimes not. ISIS arrest people without any charge just like that,” he said in a BBC report.

A masked ISIS militant suspected of being a British citizen and a young boy speaking in English appear in the 11-minute footage, which ends with five masked gunmen shooting the five accused in the head.
