Ahlul Bayt News Agency - The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at dawn Wednesday at a Palestinian girl near Yitzhar illegal settlement south of Nablus after an alleged stabbing attack.
IOF claimed that the 15-year-old girl Astabreq Nour tried to infiltrate into the settlement while holding a knife in her possession. The Israeli soldiers opened heavy fire once they noticed her, the sources added. The girl was hospitalized with no word on her condition.
Eyewitnesses affirmed that the girl did not approach the settlement. She was walking near the main road when Israeli forces suddenly opened fire at her, the sources stressed.
Following the incident, Israeli authorities summoned the girl’s father for investigation in Hawara military camp south of the city, while no information was released about the girl’s health condition.
Meanwhile, a Jordanian woman was arrested at Karama border crossing, which links West Bank with Jordan, along with her son under the pretext of holding a knife.
The Jordanian MP Assaf Shobaki said that he received a letter from a Jordanian citizen saying that his wife was arrested on Sunday while on her way to the West Bank for allegedly holding a knife.
"My wife was searched at the checkpoint and no knife was found in her possession", the MP quoted the letter as saying. Only an amount of money estimated at 1200 dinars was found in her possession, the letter read.
My wife was then arrested and charged of financing “terrorist groups”, the husband added, calling on Jordanian authorities to intervene for the release of his wife.
Dozens of Palestinian youths and minors were shot and killed over the past few weeks under the same pretext of holding a knife and carrying out stabbing attacks against Israelis. However, these claims were refuted more than once by surveillance cameras or eyewitnesses.
