AhlulBayt News Agency: A scientific seminar titled "Methods of Teaching the Quran to Children: Historical and Contemporary Approaches" is set to begin today in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Organized by Al Muntada Al Islami forum, the event will take place on May 3-4, 2025, as part of the forum’s ongoing efforts to promote religious education and strengthen Quranic teachings within society. The first day's activities will be held at the forum’s headquarters in the Samnan area of Sharjah.
The seminar is designed for specialists in Sharia sciences, educators, parents, and individuals concerned with childhood development. The discussions will focus on two key themes related to the upbringing of Muslim children.
The first theme, "The Importance of Teaching the Quran and Its Impact on Children," will be led by Dr. Hadi Hussein, a professor at Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities. He will highlight the educational and spiritual benefits of Quranic teachings during childhood, emphasizing how early exposure to the Quran strengthens Islamic identity and serves as a moral and behavioral safeguard against ideological and cultural challenges.
The second theme, "Teaching the Quran to Children: A Historical Perspective," will be presented by Dr. Saleh Mohammed Al-Luhaibi, an associate professor at the University of Sharjah. His session will explore the evolution of Quranic education, tracing its development from traditional memorization techniques using wooden boards to modern interactive learning tools such as digital applications. He will propose innovative methods to integrate authenticity with contemporary educational approaches, ensuring effective engagement and comprehension among children.
