AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): During a respectful ceremony on the occasion of "Teacher's Day" at Jamia Umm al-Kitab, the head of the "Tehreek-e-Bedari Ummat-e-Mustafa", Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi, said that the education system prevailing in our society is “curriculum-centered.” We prefer to educate our children according to the systems of countries that we consider developed or favorable. As a result, we make textbooks and curriculum the standard of education.
While the world celebrates May 1st as "Labour Day", in the Hawza Ilmiyyah (seminaries), this day is also dedicated to teachers — to honor those great individuals who nurture the thinking of future generations, and who give humanity awareness, character, and purpose. On this occasion, a dignified event titled “The Mujahideen of Gaza, Teachers of Humanity" was held by the women’s department of Jamia Urwatul Wuthqa at Jamia Umm al-Kitab.
In his address, Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi stated that the greatest and most outstanding teachers in the world today are the people of Gaza. The mothers of Gaza, the daughters, the fighters, and the innocent children, all of them are teachers who have taught the world real lessons in patience, steadfastness, courage, resistance, insight, and sacrifice.
He said that today, every school, every seminarie, every university, and every intellectual institution should look to Gaza and its people as role models. The educational institutions that merely issue degrees need to take inspiration from Gaza, the spirit that awakens the conscience, builds true human beings, and draws a clear line between truth and falsehood.
Allama Naqvi further explained that in the divine education system, the textbook and curriculum are secondary — the true foundation is the teacher. If the teacher is well-trained and possesses strong character, then they can transform individuals into responsible and impactful members of society. They shape the thinking, morals, and spiritual growth of their students.
