The Prophet’s Mosque in Medina is accommodating 4,000 Itikaf observers from 120 different countries, utilizing 48 designated sections within the mosque premises.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Prophet’s Mosque in Medina is accommodating 4,000 Itikaf observers from 120 different countries, utilizing 48 designated sections within the mosque premises.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has implemented 12 specialized on-site services to support the participants throughout the Itikaf period.

During this period, the observers devote themselves to worship activities, including prayer, Quran recitation, and supplication, continuing until the end of Ramadan.

The services offered encompass the provision of daily meals, water, and a spiritually supportive environment. Additionally, personal and health-related services are available to ensure the well-being of the observers.

Further support includes multilingual translation, informational screens explaining Itikaf guidelines, luggage storage facilities, medical and first aid clinics, sleeping and comfort supplies, laundry services, mobile charging stations, and personal care kits.

To facilitate organized access, each observer receives a wristband, simplifying entry and exit from their assigned sections.

The authority has outlined several guidelines for observers to follow, including dedicating their time to worship, maintaining calm during prayers, wearing clean attire, and using pleasant fragrances. Participants are expected to refrain from causing disruptions and ensure the mosque remains clean and orderly.

Itikaf observers are also instructed to store their belongings in the designated lockers, remain within their assigned areas as per their registration number, and comply with health and safety regulations while using designated pathways.

Additionally, the authority has prohibited activities such as bringing unauthorized food, beverages, or luggage, conducting study sessions, receiving visitors, or bringing children to the Itikaf areas.
