Lebanese professor: Muslims should address theoretical and practical aspects of Islamic values

AhlulBayt News Agency: A Lebanese university professor has called on Muslims to address both the theoretical and practical aspects of Islamic values.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Sayyed Jaafar Fadlallah, in his speech at the eleventh webinar of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference noted that Islamic values have two layers and both should be addressed by Muslim scholars.
 
He referred to justice, right, blessing, fighting oppression, purifying society, enjoying good and forbidding evil among values introduced by holy Qur’an and said,” These are common among all denominations since the holy book itself is shared by them all.”
 
The cleric noted,” The reality is that all these challenges have not targeted only the Sunni or Shia or a special arena in our lives.”
 
According to our reference Islamic books, there are many common values among all Muslims regardless of their denomination.
 
He said,” By limiting ourselves to only theoretical and practical levels, we cannot pass these challenges. Because the foreign party seeks to exploit our weak points and attack our values through sedition.”
 
The Lebanese thinker called on Muslims from different denominations to be maintain justice towards each other and demanded,” When two Islamic religions commit injustice to each other, can they support oppressors and infidels against one another?”
 
Prominent Lebanese figure, Hujjat-ul-Islam Sayyed Jaafar Fadlallah, made the remarks in an address to the 37th Islamic Unity Conference held on Friday, September 29th.

Held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Muslim scholars and religious figures from across the globe exchanged views on the issues challenging the world of Islam in the 37th Islamic Unity Conference (IUC). Participants also discussed the theme of this meeting “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values.” The event is the climax of the Islamic Unity Week that marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
