Israeli occupation forces approves building 5,632 new settlement units in West Bank

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Monday approved a settlement plan that aims at constructing 5,632 new settlement units in the West Bank.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Monday approved a settlement plan that aims at constructing 5,632 new settlement units in the West Bank.

The settlement plan includes advancing a plan to build 4,291 new settlement units before issuing tenders for establishing the units, in addition to discussing a plan that aims at building 1,332 units after discussing objections submitted against the plan.

According to Israeli media, 1,000 new settlement units will be established on Palestinian lands to the south of the West Bank city of Nablus, pursuant to an agreement between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli War Minister, Yoav Gallant, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

Netanyahu had ordered the building of 2,000 settlement units in Eli settlement, located between the West Bank cities of Nablus and Ramallah, in response to the Palestinian resistance operation that resulted in the death of four Jewish settlers at the entrance of Eli.
