AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Friday condemned shooting at Lebanese protesters, calling on Lebanese government to identify those behind the crime.
It is imperative that the Lebanese government identify and arrest those behind these crimes and mischief, the spokesman noted.
The peaceful protest in Beirut yesterday related to the last year’s port blast probe prompted violence and shooting, resulting in the death of seven people and wounding of over 60.
Khatibzadeh said that the Islamic Republic of Iran underscores the importance of peace and stability in Lebanon and was closely watching the developments.
Iran believes that the people, government and army, as well as the Lebanese resistance, will successfully pass the crisis which has its roots in the Israeli regime, the spokesman stated.
