Astan Quds Razavi provides corona test kits, N95 face masks for hospitals

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Astan Quds Razavi has announced the supply of one million N95 face masks, half a million liters of ethanol and 6,000 corona test kits required by hospitals nationwide.

Announcing the above, Mostafa Khaksar Qahroodi, AQR deputy custodian, pointed to the recent AQR measures to help the country’s health system cope with the outbreak of the coronavirus, saying: “AQR considers it a duty to the extent possible to help people in the hygiene, medical and economic areas and to use the available means to solve community problems.”

“In this regard, according to the national headquarters of corona, AQR economic sector approved the import of one million N95 masks and half a million liters of ethanol for disinfectants, mainly distributed in hospitals of Tehran, Khuzestan, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran and Fars,” he added.

Stating that half of the one million purchased N95 masks have arrived in the country and the other half about to reach the country during the upcoming weeks, he announced the import of 6,000 corona kits in accordance with international standards.

“Since almost all countries in the world have been infected with the virus, it has been difficult to supply these items internationally,” he said adding: “Therefore, AQR economic sector has made every effort to provide the aforementioned goods in accordance with world standards, at the right time and at a reasonable price to prevent further outflow and loss of foreign exchange assets.”

He emphasized that the import was carried out with the necessary authorization from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. “The purchases were done out of foreign exchange income resulted from products exported by AQR companies, and not a dollar from the country’s foreign exchange resources.”

Astan Quds Razavi has also donated 15 billion rials to Imam Reza Hospital, which is currently involved in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

“Due to the spread of the virus and the ensuing problems, AQR has prepared and distributed 50,000 packages of food and sanitary goods worth 100 billion rials to the disadvantaged people of Mashhad’s suburban areas,” he remarked.

Qahroodi added that half a million free masks were distributed among the disadvantaged people in Khorasan Razavi Province. There is also an ongoing nutrition program for the hospitals involved with 100,000 free and blessed meals, and a donation of 50,000 blessed special medical packages across the country.
