U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled to meet on Wednesday in Istanbul with a delegation of senior Hamas officials led by Khalil al-Hayya to discuss efforts to maintain the ongoing ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
US Vice President J.D. Vance and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are set to visit the occupied Palestinian territories on Monday to discuss the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza plan, according to AFP.
In a statement, Hamas slammed Witkoff’s visit to a controversial US- and Israeli-backed aid distribution site in Gaza, calling it a “staged show” aimed at whitewashing Israeli crimes and misleading public opinion.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad has strongly denounced the recent visit of U.S. Special Envoy for West Asia, Steve Witkoff, to southern Gaza, describing it as a “deceptive spectacle staged at the scene of a crime” intended to rehabilitate the image of Israel and its principal ally, the United States.
