    HTS’s Governance Strategy: Suppression of Minorities and Silence on Foreign Occupation

    The Takfiri group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, aiming to overthrow the Syrian government, received foreign assistance, particularly from Syria’s northern neighbor, and made various promises about a new governance approach. These included involving minorities in the government structure and respecting them and their sacred things. However, immediately after the fall of the previous government, this Takfiri group began suppressing, torturing, killing, and looting Syrian minorities, especially Alawites and Christians.
