AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Following the earthquake in Herat, which killed and injured dozens of residents of the city, the Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers of Afghanistan issued a statement.
The statement is as follows:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوفْ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الأَمَوَالِ والانفس وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
“We will surely test you with a measure of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits; and give good news to the patient.” (Holy Quran, Surah: Al-Baqara, Verse: 155)
Along with the life of human society in the world, there are always divine tests in different areas of human life, and felicitous and blessed are the people who come out of the divine tests successfully.
Natural disasters are among the tests of God that happen from time to time in different parts of the world, and the people of those areas are tested by God with these disasters.
Unfortunately, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook the Herat, Badghis, and Nimruz provinces of Afghanistan. In this incident, thousands of our compatriots were killed and injured in all three provinces, especially Herat, where the epicenter of the earthquake was recorded, and they suffered huge financial losses.
While offering condolences to the bereaved families, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers Assembly of Afghanistan prays for God’s forgiveness for those who lost their lives and wishes for a speedy recovery and full health for those injured in the accident. The Assembly also prays Almighty God to grant the reward of patience to those who have endured the divine test.
In the end, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Lovers Assembly requests all governments, especially the Islamic Emirate, national and international charities, and benevolent people, not to leave the victims of this tragic incident alone and to rush to their aid.
