The first attack took place at Masjid Road while the second one was managed at Khudadad Road are of Quetta.
According to details, a Shia businessman Raza Hussain, the owner of Ali Traders, Muhmmad Idrees a boxer, Ali Akbar and Ali Reza were killed by Saudi backed takfiri terrorists of Lashkar-e-Jhagvi at Liquat Bazar Masjid Road area, while after few minutes 3 more Shia Muslims were gunned down at Khudadad Road area.
Fayyaz Sumbal, the Deputy Inspector General Police, said four militants opened fire at the vehicle on Masjid road area of Quetta. All four men sitting in the vehicle were seriously wounded and succumbed to their injuries on their way to the Combined Military Hospital, he said. The attackers managed to escape after the attack, he added. Police said the victims belonged to the Shia Hazara community and were attacked when they were shutting down their shop.
The target killing of 7 Shias in Quetta today (Mondy) comes exactly two weeks after a deadly suicide bombing at a Quetta Imambargah killed 30 Shia Muslims. The Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (currently freely operating as ASWJ under leadership of Ahmed Ludhyanvi and Aurangzeb Farooqi, both of them routinely promoted by TFT blog) claimed responsibility for the bombing, one of a series of attacks this year by the sectarian outfit targeting the majority Shia Muslims.
Dozens of angry protesters blocked Jinnah Road outside Civil Hospital to protest the killings. They chanted slogans against the administration and demanded the arrests of the killers. A huge contingent of police was deployed around the hospital to maintain the order.
The Hazara Democratic Party and other Shia organisations have called for three days of mourning and a shutter-down strike on Tuesday in protest of the killings of the 7 Shiite men.
Meanwhile, expressing shock and grief, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday condemned the killing of four persons and injuries to many in an incident of firing in Quetta.In a statement, the premier prayed to the Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude. He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain also condemned the killing of four Hazara community members in an incident of indiscriminate firing on Masjid Road in Quetta and termed it `an act of open terrorism’.
