Urgent: Bloody Bombing in Najaf

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The casualties' number of the car bomb that exploded in Najaf on Sunday morning hit 37 deaths and injuries. 

Security source said that "The General Hakim Hospital received one dead and 29 injured while the General Sadr Hospital received one dead and six injured persons."

“A car bomb exploded this morning near vegetables market northern the holy city of Najaf, causing casualties of 37 number,” said the source.

A security source said the bombing was carried out by car type (KIA) that destroyed ten cars.

A wave of bombing swept South and Central Iraqi provinces by car bombs blasts, which killed about 50 people dead and wounded.

Two car bombs exploded separately on Sunday in the predominantly Shia southern city of Basra, 260 miles (420km) south-east of Baghdad, killing at least five people and wounding 10, police said.

Car bombs also targeted Shia Muslims in Najaf, Nassiriya, Kut, Hilla, Tuz Khurmato and Mahmudiya in southern Baghdad. Near the northern city of Mosul, gunmen shot dead six policemen at a checkpoint in Hadhar, police said.
