(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Handwritten Qur’an manuscripts from various eras are being displayed in an exhibit in Moscow. Kufi calligraphy manuscripts from the Ottoman era are exhibited to visitors.
Deputy Director of the Moscow Mosque and Madrasa, Marat Arshabayev, stated that the a copy of the holy book replicated during the Ottoman period and known in Russian history as the Samarkand Kufi Qur'an is being displayed for a contemporary audience.
A thick-paged and leather bound Qur’an produced in the middle of the 19th century in Cairo and protected today in the Moscow Mosque is also part of the exhibition. There is also ivory- and pearl-adorned Qur’an made in Jordan.
In addition to these texts which were persevered throughout history with great dedication, miniature Qur’ans with smaller widths and lengths will also be on display.
