46 Afghan Muslims killed in multiple deadly explosions

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - At least 46 people have been killed after multiple deadly explosions rocked various regions across war-torn Afghanistan.

At least 36 civilians were killed at a market in the southwestern Nimruz Province.

Tens more have reportedly been injured as a result of the attacks in Zaranj city on Tuesday.

Reports say the explosions targeted people shopping for the celebration of Eid, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Reports say the blasts hit crowded areas, with one of the explosions erupting near a hospital in Nimruz.

Meanwhile, a blast at a market in the northern province of Kunduz's Archi district also left at least another 10 dead.

The number of casualties is expected to rise as many of those wounded are in critical condition.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks.

On Sunday, Afghan security forces foiled a series of terror attacks on the capital Kabul.

Earlier this week, Faridullah Niazi, the governor of Ali Shing district in Laghman Province and three of his guards were killed.

The US-led war in Afghanistan, which has caused record-high civilian and military casualties, has become the longest military conflict in the American history.

Insecurity continues to rise across Afghanistan, despite the presence of about 130,000 US-led forces in the country.
