(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Yesterday, the Institute of Science and International Security in the United States published an article stating that "the concern is increasing regarding Iran's construction of a 3rd hidden centrifuge enrichment site far from the eyes of the West, since it was declared that the negotiations with Iran will continue".
In parallel, more questions are being raised regarding the uranium enrichment process at the underground facility in Fordo. The assumption of the existence of a 3rd facility was published yesterday in an article on the Institute of Science and International Security website, presided by David Albright, who has close ties with the American intelligence agencies.
Albright wrote that the concern growing in the west, might be because of, inter alia, the International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards report on Iran which called on Iran to declare if it is building new nuclear facilities, including a third gas centrifuge plant. Moreover, the report cited a series of previous announcements for senior officials in the Iranian nuclear program, including the current FM, Ali Akbar Salehi.
For his part, Salehi, who presided a year and a half ago the Iranian nuclear program in August 2010, said "studies for the location of 10 other uranium enrichment facilities had ended, and that "the construction of one of these facilities will begin by the end of the (current Iranian) year (March 2011) or start of the next year." Succeeding nuclear head Fereydoun Abbassi-Davani said in mid-2011 that construction on additional enrichment plants was delayed by two years.
At the moment, Albright wonders if the west can wait for an extra year before the construction of a 3rd facility, or the site has been established already far away from the eyes of the IAEA. He further asked, "Now, one year later, what is the status of a new centrifuge plant in addition to the Natanz and Fordow centrifuge plants? Is the plant still deferred for another year or has Iran changed its mind once again and begun building a third centrifuge plant in secret?" If so, then this matter shouldn't be very surprising, since Iran is acting low-profile when it comes to establishing an enrichment facility, and they were only exposed through information leaked by opposition groups to the West.
