On 12 January 2012 , the Saudi Wahhabi security forces martyred Shi’a citizen, Issam Mohammad Ali Abu Abdullah, 22, during a peaceful demonstration held in the town of Awwamiya, wounded three others and arrested one.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On 12 January 2012 , the Saudi Wahhabi security forces martyred the Shi’a citizen, Issam Mohammad Ali Abu Abdullah, 22, during a peaceful demonstration held in the town of Awwamiya.

There was a peaceful protest held  in the town of Awwamiya on Thursday evening called for the release of prisoners and an end to discrimination against the Shi’a minority in the country.

The security forces opened fire on the protesters, killing one and wounded three others, Mohammad al-Sa'eed and Mersi al-Rebeh, the third one, Abdullah al-Soymel, wounded when the security forces at Awwamiya checkpoint shot him heavily, injured him in his back. He was transferred to the central hospital of Qatif, then he was moved by police to the military hospital of Dammam, and his health was deteriorating .

The citizen, Ahmad al-Jassas, was also arrested at the checkpoint of al-Awwamiya without charge. He was moved to unknown location.
