Sayyed Ali Fadlullah issued a statement condemning the explosions in Iraq

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, expressed his fear that the last explosions that took place in Iraq might be a part of a scheme that aims at destroying Iraq and destabilizing it from within, as a substitute for occupation. He also feared that many are trying to fill the vacuum left behind by the occupation with sectarian strife that could destroy Iraq and the entire nation…His Eminence called on all religious scholars and authorities to condemn the last explosions that targeted the cities of An-Nasiriyya, As-Sadr and Al-Kazimiyya, confirming that they are savage acts that Islam rejects and not any law admits…His Eminence issued a statement condemning the last explosions in Iraq. Following is the text of the statement:These explosions are a clear proof that someone is trying to make the methodological destruction of Iraq the substitute for the American occupation, so as to fill the so-called security vacuum with explosions that turn Iraq into an arena plunged in a continuous state of security instability, not to mention the political instability that many are trying to turn into a sectarian one. This would render Iraq and through it, the entire region, susceptible to a sectarian strife that serves the Zionist entity only, complicates the relations between the different sects and races and paves the way for the accomplishment of the Zionist dream of establishing an all-Jewish state that would stand side by side with the other [sectarian or racial] entities whose only role is to serve the interests of the Zionist “state”.We cannot but take notice of an ongoing pursuit that has aggravated lately by the arrogant powers to burn down the region, especially Iraq, all for the sake of punishing the Iraqis for their resistance and rejection to this occupation. Moreover, we notice an escalation in the bloody explosions coinciding with every talk about the withdrawal of the Americans and their allies from this position or the other, as if what is required is to substitute the occupation with bloody crimes and sectarian strife. Thus, the parties executing these bloody explosions are actually serving the nation’s enemies, whether their motive was based on sectarian grudges, sensitivities, political calculations or other motives…At a time we condemn these brutal acts, especially those that took place in An-Nasiriyya targeting the visitors heading to the shrine of Imam Al-Hussein (a.s.), as well as in the cities of An-Kazimiyya and As-Sadr, we call on all the Muslim scholars and religious authorities and everyone concerned for the unity of the Muslims and the nation to condemn these explosions that represent a direct attack on the soul that Allah has forbidden killing except with what is right and an attack on the security of Iraq and perhaps even the region.
