Tehran Friday Prayer: Wall Street Protests to End Capitalist System

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Tehran's provisional Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazzem Sediqi said that massive popular protests across the US against corporate greed and capitalist policies will result in the full collapse of capitalism.     
 
Addressing a large congregation of worshipers on Tehran University Campus, Sediqi blasted the US authorities for suppressing peaceful protesters during the Occupy Wall Street movement, and questioned the US officials' honesty in chanting human rights slogans.

"They may silence the voice for a while through exercising force but the movement will end up in the full annihilation of the US, Europe and the capitalist system just as Islamic awakening will definitely destroy the fake Israeli regime," Sediqi stated.

Also this week, Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said that the Occupy Wall Street movement would bring down capitalism in America, underlining that the US administration could crack down, but would not be able to stop the movement.

Addressing tens of thousands of people in the western city of Kermanshah on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said the United States is now in a full-blown crisis because its "corrupt foundation has been exposed to the American people."

The Occupy Wall Street movement started in New York City last month and is spreading to other parts of the US. The movement is peacefully protesting against the power of the financial and political sectors.

The Occupy Wall Street protests have spread to other cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, Seattle and Los Angeles, and have become a political issue, with Republicans accusing the demonstrators of waging "class war".

Occupy Wall Street protesters - based in Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan - say the wealthiest 1% are getting richer at the expense of the rest of America.
