(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Protesters took to the streets in New York City on Saturday to express their outrage over the US participation in the bombing campaign in Libya and economic sanctions against Zimbabwe, as well as the economic and social crisis in the United States.
Organizers at the march highlighted domestic issues plaguing the country including police brutality, unemployment, gentrification, housing foreclosures, destruction of public education, closing hospitals, and the proliferation of the prison industry.
The peace activists say the main motive behind the Western attack on Libya is the vast oil reserves of the North African country.
Analysts say African-Americans continue to bear the brunt of discrimination, which testifies that racism still plagues the US.
Peace activists also accuse the US government, the FBI and the US attorney's office of having a terrible history of racism toward Palestinians, Arabs and Muslim people.
