(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Security forces entered the area with tanks and snipers early Monday.
Daraa is the city where demonstrations first broke out in the Middle Eastern country in mid-March.
Syrian Arab News Agency earlier said five security troops had been killed and five others wounded in a fire exchange in the area.
Four people were also killed in the Mediterranean coast town of Jabla on Sunday.
Since the beginning of the unrest, Syria has been grappling with protests. The opposition blames security forces for the death. However, Syrian authorities blame armed groups and foreign elements for the violence in the country.
Two Syrian lawmakers have resigned to protest the failure of security forces to protect the people. Reports say the mufti of the city of Daraa has also resigned.
