Mehdi Gharasheikhlu added that over 14,000 Iranians have memorized part of the Quran or the entire Holy Book.
He was speaking Thursday, December 2, at the meeting of Kohkiluye and Boyer Ahmad Province’s cultural managers.
Stressing that expanding Quranic education is among the organization’s priorities, Gharasheikhlu said nearly 500,000 individuals attend Quranic courses in the country every year.
He also said the Dar-ol-Quran Organization plans to organize grassroots participation in Quranic activities, adding that some 2500 Quranic centers and over 1000 Quran houses in villages are run by grassroots volunteers.
Elsewhere in his remarks, head of Dar-ol-Quran Organization stressed the huge potential of Kohkiluye and Boyer Ahmad Province for spreading Quranic activities and expressed hope that Quranic programs will grow in the province in the coming year.
Representative of of Kohkiluye and Boyer Ahmad Province at the Assembly of Experts was also present at the meeting.
