(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The 7th IISS summit, named the Manama Dialogue, will draw together the highest concentration to date of policymakers involved in regional security.
Some 25 government delegations, including prime ministers, foreign and defense ministers, chiefs of defense staff will attend the summit alongside military and intelligence chiefs and distinguished delegates from the private sector.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki will also attend the three-day summit.
The IISS said earlier that amongst other attendees are US Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton, who will deliver a speech at the summit on Friday evening and King Abdullah II of Jordan who will give the 'keynote address' on Saturday morning.
According to the IISS, Manama Dialogue is the most important regional security meeting in the Middle East and an anchor for regional security diplomacy.
In providing opportunities for government leaders to deliver public statements and facilitating private bilateral and multilateral meetings, the Manama Dialogue has helped to consolidate regional defense policy, improve counter-terrorism cooperation and facilitate the coordination of non-proliferation proposals.
