The Imam of the Finnish Islamic Community, Khodr Khaled Chehab, has died at the age of 48.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Imam of the Finnish Islamic Community, Khodr Khaled Chehab, has died at the age of 48.

He died on Sunday in Beirut surrounded by family, according to an announcement by the Community.

According to Helsingin Sanomat, he had long been on disability pension because of heart trouble.

Chehad came to Finland in 1987 from Lebanon, becoming a Finnish citizen in 1998. In addition to serving as Imam, he was an economist and teacher of Arabic.
