The 225 Qurans that Florida Pastor Terry Jones threatened to burn are now in the hands of the Christian Defense Coalition, whose director has other plans for Islam's holy book

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - ABNA - DC - The 225 Qurans that Florida Pastor Terry Jones threatened to burn are now in the hands of the Christian Defense Coalition, whose director has other plans for Islam's holy book.

The Rev. Patrick Mahoney says he'll distribute the Qurans to churches and Christian leaders who promise to keep them as a reminder to pray for Muslims and share the love of Christ with them.

Mahoney had traveled to Gainesville, Fla., in the days before Sept. 11, trying to convince Jones to cancel the burning. Jones relented amid pressure from military, political and religious leaders.

Mahoney returned to Florida last week and had the 225 Qurans shipped to Washington for safe-keeping and distribution to well-meaning Christians.
