According to on5yirmi5, head of Turkish Islamic Researches Center, Akif Aydın, said 38 volumes of this valuable work have already been published and the six remaining ones will be published in two years.
“The project began to in 1983 and the first volume was published five years later in 1988. The 39th volume is under publication and the compilation of the 40th volume has recently been completed.
Describing this great Islamic work as “unrivalled”, he said, “Similar projects have been undertaken in some Islamic countries, but were left unfinished. So the Turkish Islamic Encyclopedia would be the only one to be fully completed when it finishes in two years time.”
He went on to say that there are plans for translating the Encyclopedia into Arabic and English.
