ABNA24 - The General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held a Quranic gathering to celebrate the birth of Lady Fatima al-Masoomah (peace be upon her).
The ceremony was held in the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), attended by several officials of the holy shrine and a group of visitors.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine, delivered by the Deputy Head of the Religious Affairs Department, Sheikh Adel Al-Wakeel. He addressed the virtues and merits of Lady Fatima Al-Masoomah (peace be upon her), highlighting her status among the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and reviewing aspects of her noble biography and the most significant events in her life, including the hardships she endured. He also elaborated on her scientific and spiritual status, her role in establishing religious values, and emphasized what her biography represents as a model of patience, steadfastness, and loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
A member of the Central Celebrations Committee at the holy shrine; Sayed Aqeel Al-Yasiri, said: "The ceremony comes to commemorate the blessed birth anniversary of Lady Fatima Al-Masoomah (peace be upon her) and included various segments."
He added that the gathering witnessed the participation of several readers and the honoring of a number of winners in the cultural electronic competition commemorating the auspicious birth anniversary, which saw the participation of 2,500 contestants from various Iraqi provinces, 1,500 of whom achieved full marks, while a draw was held to select 10 winners.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen on commemorating the occasions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) by organizing various cultural activities; with the aim of deepening religious awareness and instilling authentic Islamic values among different segments of society.
