AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement expressing its deep condolences over the martyrdom of Kamal Kharrazi, the head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations and former foreign minister.
In the official release, the ministry strongly condemned Kharrazi’s assassination, emphasizing that the heinous crime was committed by criminal regimes of the United States and Israel.
According to the ministry’s statement, Kharrazi was targeted during an attack on Iran on April 1, 2026.
The severe attack resulted in the tragic martyrdom of his devoted wife and left the veteran diplomat and esteemed academic severely injured, eventually succumbing to his wounds.
The ministry extended heartfelt condolences to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Kharrazi family, and the nation’s broader diplomatic and academic communities.
The statement called the assassination a continuation of blatant violations of international law by the Israeli regime. Iranian officials asserted that the attack clearly demonstrates the regime’s fundamental hostility toward peace, diplomacy, and constructive international engagement.
the Foreign Ministry honored the memories of Kamal Kharrazi, former Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other martyred leaders. The ministry also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to continuing their proud legacy in actively defending the national security and vital interests of Iran.
Earlier, Ayatollah Khamenei has offered condolences on the martyrdom of Kharrazi who was martyred in a terror attack by the US and Israeli enemy, terming his martyrdom as a testament to honor for the academic community, university professors, and political officials of the Islamic System.
