US needs to ‘refrain from futile gestures’, says Expediency Council chief

The head of the Expediency Council, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, says Washington should refrain from futile gestures, adding that the world, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, will not return to the pre-war conditions.

The head of the Expediency Council, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, says Washington should refrain from futile gestures, adding that the world, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, will not return to the pre-war conditions.

He made the remarks in an X post on Thursday.

“Regional developments have transcended the bounds of conventional warfare, entering a decisive moment in the formation of a new global order and the reconfiguration of power balances,” he wrote.

He also said that Washington is better “to refrain from futile gestures—the world, and the Strait of Hormuz in particular.” He added that the Strait will not return to the pre-war conditions.

“The response to the blood of our fallen will not merely be strategic; it will be civilizational in its scope and consequence.”

The Israeli and US terrorist armies started a war of aggression on Iran on February 28 by assassinating the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and massacring about 170 students and staff members in a school in Minab, southern Iran. In response, the Iranian military started to hit the Israeli regimes and the interests of the United States in the region.
