The Grand Mosque in Russia’s capital of Moscow hosted an Iftar (fast-breaking) event.
It was attended by Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, the head of Russian Federation’s Muslims Religious Department.
Also present were artists and cinema, theater and music activists as well as popular figures, according to the Muslimsaroundtheworld website.
The Fostok FM Radio cooperated in organizing the Iftar event, aimed at enhancing social interaction in the holy month of Ramadan.
The programs included signing religious songs, speeches, and a fundraising activity to fulfill the wishes of orphans and children suffering from chronic diseases.
The iftar event demonstrated efforts to boost interfaith and cultural dialogues and emphasized that Ramadan in Russia is an opportunity for interaction between spiritual values and social responsibilities and enhancing coexistence and empathy.
