Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, applauded the high turnout in the rallies marking the 31st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei said yesterday, late Thursday night, in a message issued to the Iranian nation: “Friends and enemies of the Iranian nation should know that this nation has found its way and has taken its decision to reach the peak of development and welfare. It will overcome any obstacle which comes on its path.”

He asked: “Are the trial and errors during the past thirty one years are not enough to awaken a few arrogant and bullying states to their futile efforts to dominate this Islamic nation?”

Millions of people attended the rallies marking the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Rallies were held yesterday in over 800 cities including Tehran where an extraordinarily high number of people from all segments of society attended at Azadi square.

The high numbers of people who attended the rallies proves that the general public in Iran are opposed to the actions of the supporters of Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi.
