Sunni Cleric Praises Post‑Revolution Progress and National Unity in Iran

A Sunni cleric stated that the services and development provided to Sunni communities since the Islamic Revolution are incomparable to the past, highlighting major improvements in infrastructure, education, and welfare.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A Sunni cleric noted that the services provided to the Sunni community—ranging from public and social programs to the expansion of religious schools—are incomparable to the situation before the Islamic Revolution. Sheikh Afra explained that before the Revolution, many regions lacked basic necessities such as water, electricity, healthcare, welfare services, and schools.

“Today, after forty‑seven years, we clearly witness the remarkable progress and services delivered across the country,” he said.

The member of the Supreme Council for Sunni Religious Schools emphasized that since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, both Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader have given special attention to unity and to the Sunni community.

“For this reason, Sunnis—especially in Bushehr Province—have demonstrated loyalty, cohesion, and obedience to the Leader. With the insight and unity that prevail among Sunni and Shia scholars today, the enemies will never achieve their goals,” he added.

The interim Friday prayer leader of Kangan stressed that sowing discord has long been a strategy of the West and the United States to maintain dominance.

“They openly pursue hegemonic policies, but thanks to the guidance of Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader, the bond between Iranian sects and ethnic groups is far too strong to be shaken by the mischief of a few troublemakers,” he said.

In conclusion, Sheikh Afra stated: “Today’s growth, progress, and achievements are the result of the glorious Islamic Revolution and the wise, compassionate leadership of the Supreme Leader. We must support him and stand by this system so that enemies cannot infiltrate or create rifts between the people and the state, nor shake this solid mountain.”
