British armed forces were not military ready for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, British Joint Chief of Staff Jock Stirrup told an inquiry on Iraq war.
The air force general said he had informed the government that there were risks involved in the tight schedule.
He pointed out to problems with supplying enough body armor, desert combat clothing and boots for frontline troops.
