AhlulBayt News Agency: Deforestation and increasing air pollution have severely impacted daily life. In the current circumstances, there appears to be no better solution for ensuring oxygen supply and improving air quality than tree plantation.
With these noble goals in mind, Taj Rudauli, owner of Taj Tent House, launched a remarkable tree plantation campaign in Rudauli Sharif, Uttar Pradesh, India in memory of the Chief of Martyrs, Imam Hussain (A.S.), and the martyrs of the path of Islam.
On the morning of the 11th of Muharram, following a mourning assembly held at the shrine of Syed Muhammad Saleh (may Allah have mercy on him) located in front of the Jama Masjid, the commendable act of planting trees was carried out in the presence of Maulana Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi and other respected personalities.
Maulana Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi emphasized the importance of tree plantation by referencing sayings of the Infallibles (A.S.). He further explained that given the increasing water consumption and looming shortage, planting trees becomes even more essential, as trees help absorb rainwater into the ground.
Quoting the esteemed religious leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, Maulana Rizvi stated that the Supreme Leader has consistently emphasized the protection of nature and has insisted that the green spaces in cities must not be destroyed or reduced.
He warned that except in technical or essential matters, cutting trees is harmful and dangerous. He stressed the need to prevent deforestation and the conversion of agricultural land.
The Supreme Leader has repeatedly stated that the national tree plantation campaign should be taken seriously and continued actively. He emphasized that resisting deforestation and the misuse of agricultural lands, and planting trees, is a virtuous and necessary act.
