(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), mainly comprising of Kurdish fighters, stormed ISIS’s strongholds at the border of Aleppo and Raqqa provinces and pushed them back from at least five villages after hours of non-stop battle.
The SDF fighters engaged in tough battle with ISIS (Daesh / ISIL) and took control over the villages of al-Baqal, Tal Othman, al-Nafileh, Um Jahash and Shams al-Deen.
ISIS suffered a heavy death toll and retreated from the battlefield.
In relevant developments in the Northern part of Aleppo province near Jarabulus on Sunday the SDF fighters destroyed a tank of the Turkish army.
It was the first tank destroyed by the SDF fighters in the border town of Jarabulus in Aleppo province in Northern Syria in retaliation for the Turkish army's deployment of forces and tanks there.
A Turkish soldier was also wounded in the SDF's attacks.
