(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Palestinian Ministry of the Interior said Palestinians stranded in the Egyptian side of the Rafah border-crossing will not be able to gain access into Gaza as the Egyptian authorities decided to open the crossing before Muslim pilgrims only.
The Interior Ministry spokesperson Iyad al-Bazm said the Rafah border-crossing will be opened for three days starting Tuesday to allow the passage of Palestinian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform the annual Hajj rituals.
He called on Palestinians stranded overseas to backtrack on booking their flights to Egypt in an attempt to gain access to Gaza because the Egyptian authorities will unblock the crossing before pilgrims only.
He added that over 4,000 Palestinians have been stranded outside of the blockaded Gaza Strip due to Egypt’s closure of the Rafah crossing for over a couple of months.
