(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The first phase of the Darayya agreement to surrender the town to the Syrian government has concluded after more than 300 militants from Liwaa Shuhada Al-Islam and Ajnad Al-Sham were transferred to the Idlib Governorate.
In exchange for the Syrian government’s transfer of 300 militants, Liwaa Shuhada Al-Islam agreed to free 20 Syrian Arab Army (SAA) prisoners, as well as hand over the bodies of 14 fallen soldiers.
Liwaa Shuhada Al-Islam is also in the process of handing over two captured tanks and one BMP; these were seized during the four year long battle for Darayya.
The second phase of this agreement will take place over the next few days, as the Syrian government transfers the remaining Islamist rebels to the Idlib Governorate.
