(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Emphasizing on dialogue to make nations close to each other, Sheikh Taskhiri said: "Interreligious dialogue is a necessity for reducing tensions".
According to the Public Relations of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Allama Sayyed Saleh Hakim, the Head of Wisdom Center in Iraq and Sufi Domenico, the member of Mediterranean Council of Churches attended in the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and met with Mohammad Mahdi Taskhiri, the Head of the International Centre for Interreligious Dialogue of the Organization.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sheikh Taskhiri called for the exchange of experience and cooperation between the scholars of France and Iraq, and said: "Holding constructive religious dialogue will lead to better understanding and reduce tensions in the world".
He added: "Some believe that these talks are costly and have not any positive aspect, but we believe that the cost of such dialogues is one-hundredth of the cost of war and talks should be held to prevent cruelty and crimes against humanity and also the destruction of building structures and cultural, historical monuments, as the common heritage of mankind".
He continued: "Interreligious dialogue will make nations close to each other and will lead to the development of a peaceful life".
Welcoming the development of relations between religious centers, Allama Sayyed Saleh Hakim said: "Today, the West has a different view to the followers of Islam and does not consider all the same and distinguishes between extremist and moderate forces, including Western governments and their people; recently, some directors are trying to defend the honor of Islam and other religions by making movies".
He emphasized: "A lot of misconceptions would be corrected by considering Islamic countries in future interreligious dialogue".
In this meeting, Sufi Domenico said: "Human society will experience security and peace when the truth of all religions will be clear for all. Definitely, anti-human character has nothing to do with none of the religions".
At the end of the meeting, the sides talked about the life of religious minorities in Iran, the relations of International Centre for Interreligious Dialogue of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization with other Interreligious Dialogue Centers in international arena.
