Head of the Nineveh media center Raafat al-Zirari confirmed that the 10th division in the Iraqi army has targeted ISIS headquarters in an ISIS-held village south of Mosul.

Thaher Mohammed Salman al-Sabawi, a top ISIS commander in Nineveh province, was reported dead along with other militants from the group, according to al-Zirari, who quoted Iraqi security sources as saying.

“Al-Sabawi was killed along with ten escorts in the attack.”

Al-Zirari pointed out that health centers and field hospitals in the city of Mosul “are totally filled with the group’s wounded and dead bodies” as a result of the coalition airstrikes and the shelling carried out by Iraqi forces.
