Iran, Lebanon stress need for Muslim Unity

Hesameddin Ashena, a cultural advisor to President Hassan Rouhani, and Deputy Head of Lebanon's Islamic Shiite Supreme Council Abdel Amir Qablan in a meeting on Monday underlined the need for unity and consolidation of cooperation among Muslims.

The two sides said that Muslims from different religious sects should try to confront the plots which are threatening the Muslims ummah through convergence and solidarity.

Ashena and Sheikh Qablan discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region as well as the means for boosting the countries' relations.

Sheikh Qablan lauded Iran's Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei for his wise leadership and high morale of the Muslim affairs, and expressed the hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran could make for more successes and advancements.
