President Hassan Rouhani underlined that the International Quds Day is reminiscent of late Imam Khomeini, and said that it is the day of unity of Muslim ummah.

'The Muslims with their widespread presence in this day tell the world that despite the silence of some people vis-à-vis the indescribable oppressions done against the great nation of Palestine, they will never forget the Holy Quds and the oppressed Palestinian nation,' he added.
President Rouhani said that Quds is a day that Muslim nations, especially the Iranian nation, the voice of oppression of a great nation who have been away from their home.
The International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel's occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas. Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, specially in Iran, as well as a large number of non-Muslim states.
The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.
