An important meeting between Ayatollah Javadi Amoli and Ayatollah Sistani in Najaf

Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, during his trip to Iraq, met and held talks with Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani. A Quranic gift was exchanged between the two esteemed religious authorities

According to the AhlulBayt (AS) News Agency (ABNA): As part of Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli's scholarly and pilgrimage visit to Iraq, he met with Grand Ayatollah Sistani in the holy city of Najaf. The meeting, which took place in a warm and spiritual atmosphere, focused on important religious, cultural, and social issues concerning the Islamic world.

During the meeting, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli praised Ayatollah Sistani's scientific and spiritual status, commending his unparalleled role in safeguarding the unity of the Islamic Ummah and guiding Shia communities. Grand Ayatollah Sistani also expressed his pleasure at the meeting and appreciated Ayatollah Javadi Amoli's scholarly and exegetical contributions.

In this meeting, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli presented a complete set of his valuable exegesis, "Tasnim," consisting of 80 volumes, to Grand Ayatollah Sistani, personally handing him the 80th volume. Grand Ayatollah Sistani received this scholarly work with great respect and praised the forty-year effort behind it.

Grand Ayatollah Sistani admired this enduring work, describing Tasnim as an honor for the Shia community. Emphasizing the centrality of the Quran in religious sciences, he stated: "The narrations of AhlulBayt (AS) must be presented to the Quran, and only if they align with the Quran can they be referenced and acted upon."

He further stressed the unity of Shia seminaries worldwide, saying: "Our view of the Qom seminary is no different from our view of the Najaf seminary, and we will serve both to the best of our ability."

Referring to his prior familiarity with Ayatollah Javadi Amoli's works and scholarly personality, he added: "We had heard much about your qualities and scholarly works, but hearing is one thing, and seeing is another!"

In another part of the meeting, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli praised Ayatollah Sistani's status, saying: "For the Shia and the people of Iraq, you are like a kind and compassionate father; your presence is a great blessing for the Islamic world."

He also described the historical and enduring role of religious authority in preserving Iraq's social order and countering Takfiri movements, adding: "The Najaf seminary, whether directly or indirectly, has been a source of immense blessings for the Islamic Ummah."

This meeting received widespread media attention and was welcomed by seminary circles, being regarded as an important step toward scholarly convergence and unity among religious authorities.
