Registration for participation in 4th edition of Karbala International Holy Quran Award

Registration has started for participation in the 4th edition of the Karbala International Holy Quran Award.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Registration has started for participation in the 4th edition of the Karbala International Holy Quran Award.

The Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated with the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine organizes the competition annually. 

Sheikh Khayruddin Ali al-Hadi director of the center, told IQNA that the registration deadline is May 1.

He said the international Quranic event will be held in the categories of Quran memorization, recitation and interpretation.

He noted that the age of the participants must be between 18 and 50 years old and the contestants must be a reciter, memorizer or interpreter of the Quran.

The participant must not have won the first or second place in the previous rounds of the competition, according to the official.

Al-Hadi added that the other conditions for participating in the contest are to submit a recorded clip of performance in recitation and memorization, which should not be more than three minutes long, and should not include any sound effects.

Also, those who intend to participate in the interpretation category should study the first five parts of the Quran interpretation by Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi.

The in-person round of the competition will be held in Karbala concurrent with Eid al-Ghadir, he went on to say.
