AhlulBayt News Agency: On the occasion of the anniversary of the heartbreaking destruction of Jannat al-Baqi Cemetery, an international conference was held at Imam Khomeini (RA) Seminary School in the holy city of Qom with scholars and prominent figures from different countries in attendance.

on the occasion of the anniversary of the destruction of the historical cemetery of Jannat al-Baqi, an international conference was held at the Martyr Aref Hosseini Hall of Imam Khomeini (RA) Seminary School in the holy city of Qom with the presence of scholars and prominent figures from different countries. This conference was held with the efforts of the "Tahrir Post" cultural complex and in cooperation with Islamic and scientific institutions such as Al-Yasin Association and the Center for Islamic Thought in India.

At this gathering, speakers condemned the cruel acts of destroying the graves of the children of the Messenger of God (PBUH), called for the reconstruction of their holy graves as soon as possible, and emphasized the need to keep this historical tragedy alive in the public minds of the Islamic world.

The first speaker of the meeting was Hujjat al-Islam Seyyed Mahboob Mehdi Abedi, founder of "Jannat al-Baqi Reconstruction Movement", who in a video message from The US, while thanking the organizers and the audience, stated,” Baqi is not just a piece of land, but a symbol of justice, humanity and a reminder of the oppression of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT); we have been indebted to this tragedy for a hundred years and unfortunately this day is not properly commemorated.

He further noted that silence in the face of this historical oppression makes everyone responsible.

Ali Mahdavi, one of the Indian poets, continued by singing poems about Jannat al-Baqi and reminded,” Baqi is not just a piece of land, but a symbol of justice, humanity and the guardian of history. The cry of Baqi is beyond any tribe and group, a completely faith-based, humane and moral duty. For we are talking about the sanctity of graves that are themselves the voice of oppression, graves that, despite destruction, speak to awakened hearts and shake conscious hearts. Since this injustice has been committed in our time against the holy graves of the infallible and pure Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and their shrines, we are all responsible for it and tomorrow we shall be held accountable before God.”

The ceremony ended with the recitation of the prayer of the Imam of the Time (PBUH) and a prayer for the reconstruction of Jannat al-Baqi. The participants, holding placards, called for the immediate reconstruction of the holy graves of the Imams in Baqi.
