AhlulBayt News Agency: International Quds Day is observed on the last Friday of Ramadan, a day officially designated by Ayatollah Khomeini, the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, in 1979 to support the Palestinian people. He called on Muslims and freedom-seekers around the world to unite for the liberation of occupied Palestine and Jerusalem.
Naming the last Friday of Ramadan as Quds Day received support from many intellectuals and freedom-seekers around the world, leading to Quds Day rallies being held in 80 countries across various continents in recent years.
This year’s Quds Day is of particular importance, considering more than a year since the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and the war waged by Israel against the people of Gaza and the West Bank, which has resulted in the deaths of over 50,183 Palestinians and 113,828 wounded, most of whom are defenseless women and children.
For this reason, it is predicted that this year's Quds Day march will be held with even more grandeur in different countries, and in fact will lead to a platform for condemning and isolating Israel even more.
Regarding the significance and characteristics of Quds Day this year, it should be noted that the philosophy behind Quds Day is to outline Israel's crimes and to remind the world of this regime's occupation in occupied Palestine.
Over the past 75 years, Israel has driven the original inhabitants of Palestine from their homeland and seized their property and belongings. This regime has committed many crimes over the years that are unprecedented in history, and on Quds Day, these crimes are condemned by public opinion and freedom-seekers around the world. Quds Day is a strategic day for expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn the occupation.Since Ayatollah Khomeini designated the last Friday of Ramadan as Quds Day, this movement has expanded year by year, and awareness regarding Israel's crimes has increased. This year, due to the specific conditions Israel has created in Gaza, we will undoubtedly witness a broader expression of anger and hatred towards Israel from people all around the world on Quds Day.
Over the years, Israel has consistently attempted to present itself as a victim and frame this narrative as the basis of its existence. However, this time, due to the heinous crimes it has committed in an attempt to compensate for its failures in the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, it has incurred substantial costs for itself and sparked a wave of anger and hatred among global public opinion.
Given the situation faced by the people of Gaza and the famine that Israel has inflicted upon the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which has led to increased casualties due to hunger and lack of access to food and medicine, Quds Day has taken on particular importance this year.
Therefore, this Quds Day will be a day of a massive storm of anger directed at Israel across the globe, with world public opinion and freedom-seekers widely condemning Israel's crimes.
This year's Quds Day is important not only for keeping the Palestinian issue alive but also for revisiting the files of Israel's crimes, which, despite all of Israel's attempts to portray itself as a victim, revealed the true nature of this regime to the world during the recent war.
This year's Quds Day holds even greater significance in light of the genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, with horrific and unimaginable crimes committed against them, all of which have been witnessed by the world.
The resistance of the Palestinian people against these atrocities has given considerable weight to this year’s Quds Day, making it distinct from previous years. Naturally, participation in this rally can serve as a healing source for some of the pains caused by Israel's crimes in Gaza and can further intensify the global isolation and hatred of this regime.
