Iranian DM: Swift, decisive, crushing response waiting aggressors

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said to defend security and national interests, the Islamic Republic will react decisively to any aggressive enemy.

General Hatami made the remarks in a joint meeting with the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission on Monday.

“Iran’s timely reprisal attack on the US base of Ein al-Asad proved to the Global Arrogance and domineering system that the Islamic Republic of Iran will give a rapid, unwavering and crushing response to any invading enemy,” he said.

Referring to defense progresses in the ground, air, naval, electronic, and aerospace warfare, especially the missile achievements, Hatami said the ministry has experienced highest growth in the past years.

He slammed the US criminal move to assassinate former commander of IRGC Quds Force Lieutenant General Soleimani, saying that after this shameful and inhumane act, Iran’s Armed Forces, in a strategic and authoritative decision that was unprecedented since World War II, broke up the US hollow awe by targeting the US military and strategic base of Ein al-Asad.

In relevant remarks on April 23, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami warned the US forces against any act of sabotage to threatening move in the Persian Gulf, after US President Donald Trump’s provocative remarks.

“We tell the Americans that we are fully determined and serious in defending our national security, water borders, security of the shipping and our defense forces’ security and will respond to any act of sabotage firmly,” General Salami said after visiting the IRGC forces stationed on the Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf on April 23.

“We have ordered our naval units to target any vessel or combat unit of the terrorist US forces who want to threaten the security of our non-combat ships or combat vessels,” he added.

General Salami referred to Trump’s earlier remarks who said that he had instructed the US Navy to “shoot down and destroy” Iranian vessels if they harass American ships at sea, and said that the Americans are facing confusion in their type of command and control over their military units due to engagement with their coronavirus-infected forces.
