ABNA24 - The president of Malaysian Consultative Islamic Organization (MAPIM) has condemned the intensification of US pressures against Iran stressing that Islamic Republic has the right to defend its independence and sovereignty. Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid slammed the hypocrisy of the US-Israeli axis as it maintains a rhetoric of stability, security and compliance yet practices escalation and domination in face of Iran.
Speaking of the US foreign policy, he said,” When talks fail, it turns immediately to pressure, sanctions, and military threats. This is not the language of peacebuilders. It is the language of power politics.”
He noted that opposite to the dangerous illusion imposed on the world, what is being imposed (by US) is not peace, but submission.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid said,” Iran, like any sovereign nation, has the right to defend its independence and define its future. Peace cannot be built on humiliation. It cannot be achieved through siege, blockade, or intimidation" and emphasized," A just peace requires mutual respect, equal footing, and genuine dialogue.”
The prominent scholar warned,” If the international community remains silent, it becomes complicit in redefining peace as submission” adding,” Once that line is crossed, no nation is safe.”
He concluded,” The world must choose: uphold justice and sovereignty, or accept a global order where might alone defines what is right.”
The remarks by Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid follows the latest US threats to blockade all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports after the negotiation between Tehran and Washington in Islamabad failed to reach an agreement.
