AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In a statement regarding recent regional developments, the AhlulBayt World Assembly strongly condemned the widespread wave of arrests in Bahrain and Kuwait.
The statement initially reads, “The recent developments in the region and the dangerous deterioration of the security situation following the American-Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic have revealed the truth about what the Islamic Republic had repeatedly warned against: that the presence of the United States and the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime constitute the most serious threat to the security and stability of the region.”
It also stated, “Despite the clarity and obviousness of these facts after this unjust aggression, we see that certain Arab regimes, particularly in the Persian Gulf, instead of revisiting their plans and strategies to protect the region's resources and capabilities, have become engaged in a widespread wave of arrests of citizens who have expressed their dissatisfaction with this brutal aggression against the Islamic Republic and the Muslim nation of Iran; based on superficial charges such as stirring sectarian divisions, misuse of mobile phones, or expressing grief and mourning for the martyrdom of the great leader, the supreme leader and religious authority, the martyred Grand Ayatollah, Imam, Sayed Ali Khamenei.”
The statement added:
“In light of the recent developments and the conditions of brazen aggression against the Islamic Republic, and the endangerment of the security and stability of the entire region in the face of the catastrophic risks it currently confronts, we emphasize the following:
First: Recent developments have clearly proven that the security of the region must be preserved and safeguarded by the region's own governments and peoples. Accordingly, we advise the Persian Gulf governments, particularly in Bahrain and Kuwait, to immediately halt the wave of arrests, release all detainees who have been arrested for condemning the criminal aggression against the Islamic Republic, and act promptly and without delay for their release; certain prominent scholarly and religious figures, such as Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Hussein Ma'touq in Kuwait, a member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, to achieve genuine reconciliation with their peoples before it is too late.
Furthermore, the Persian Gulf governments must come to understand that the balance of power and strategic security conditions have shifted in favor of the peoples of the region, and there is no longer room to rely on the continuation or return of the balances that existed prior to this aggression. They must become fully convinced that turning back the clock is impossible.
Therefore, the best option for the Persian Gulf rulers lies in returning to their peoples, mending their relationship with them, and initiating a comprehensive reconciliation; a reconciliation through which the role of the Persian Gulf peoples in preserving security and stability and building the future is strengthened with the power of popular participation, for legitimacy, strength, security, and the reinforcement of stability lie only in the embrace of the peoples.
Events have proven that reliance on foreign forces and normalization with the occupying Zionist regime constitute the most serious threat to the security and stability of the region, and the notion that such actions bring security and stability is nothing but a grand illusion.
Second: We emphasize the importance of uniting around the just causes of the Ummah, including the liberation of all occupied Islamic lands, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque - the first qibla and third holiest sanctuary - from the grip of the aggressive Zionist enemy.”
