ABNA24 - Iran’s Friday prayer leader in Qom has outlined seven major strategic miscalculations by the enemy during the recent ‘Ramadan War,’ emphasizing the Islamic Republic’s resilience and the nation’s unwavering demands.
Speaking to a large crowd at the Qom Holy City’s Mosalla on April 3, 2026, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi said the Iranian nation has once again proven that the enemy’s analytical models are fundamentally flawed.
“The enemy miscalculated on seven fronts,” the senior cleric declared.
First miscalculation: The enemy believed that Iran, facing economic pressures, would retreat or lose its ability to make sound strategic decisions. “Instead, the Iranian people appeared on the scene miraculously, with greater insight and courage than ever before.”
Second miscalculation: The US and its allies thought a sudden, devastating blow would cause Iran’s political system to collapse. “They mobilized their mercenaries and assassinated key commanders. But they were wrong. This system is rooted in the faith of the people. Leadership was immediately restored, and all state bodies were swiftly reinforced.”
Third miscalculation: The enemy assumed Iran would remain strictly on the defensive. “Our strategic doctrine has now shifted from strategic patience to strategic offense. For over four decades, we endured hits from their proxies. That era is over. Our defense is now proactive, regional, and if necessary, extra-regional.”
Fourth miscalculation: Washington believed its advanced conventional weapons, including the F-35, would guarantee victory. “They forgot about the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s asymmetric power. Today, all key positions in the region are in the hands of the Resistance.”
Fifth miscalculation: The enemy thought the Axis of Resistance had been shattered after two years of heavy blows. “Netanyahu and Trump’s weak minds miscalculated. The Resistance has rebuilt itself. Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and other fronts have risen in a chain reaction.”
Sixth miscalculation: They counted on full NATO and international backing. “In reality, much of the world, including many Western publics, silently or openly supports Iran’s stand against arrogant powers.”
Seventh miscalculation: The enemy planned for internal riots and chaos. “They were defeated by our internal security, the brave Basij, and the vigilant people of Iran.”
Iran’s demands, Ayatollah Arafi said, include:
- Continued defense and no surrender to bullying
- Mass public turnout in streets and prayer grounds
- A decisive revenge for the blood of the martyred leader and top commanders
- Firm action against mercenaries inside and outside the country
- Uncompromising resistance against the United States
“To Trump and Netanyahu, we say: We are not returning to the Stone Age. We are advancing toward an era of great victories. You have regressed to the law of the jungle. This nation stands united, and its cry is: ‘Death to humiliation!’” Ayatollah Arafi concluded.
He also called on regional countries to distance themselves from Washington and urged the Axis of Resistance to expand its operations.
“The whole nation chants ‘Labbaik Ya Hussain,’ and today, ‘Labbaik Ya Khamenei,’” he said.
